A temporary position as Curator for the Chinese collection is available in the Asian Department. The Museum is looking for a scholar with relevant expertise, ideally in the field of Chinese ceramics, and the willingness and ability to communicate that knowledge to a wide audience. We expect the successful candidate to have a degree or post-graduate qualification in a relevant field and experience of working in a museum.

The Curator will be part of the team responsible for the care, research, display and interpretation of the Chinese collection. S/he will contribute to activities associated with the T. T. Tsui Gallery of Chinese Art, and other galleries, and to curatorial and administrative work across the department and museum as required.

The post holder will also be expected to make a positive contribution to the museum’s strategic objectives, through participation in relevant learning projects, in the maintenance and development of national and international curatorial partnerships, and through research, publication and contributions to online resources.

Closing date for receipt of applications is midnight on 5 January 2020.

Interviews will be held on 23 January 2020.

Interview expenses will not be paid unless there is a prior agreement.
