We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to oversee the on-site experience for over 3 million visitors per year at the world’s leading museum of art and design.
He/she will lead the smooth operation of the Museum as a visitor attraction on a day-to-day basis, with responsibility for around 150 staff and 400 volunteers, as well as play a strategic and visionary role in ensuring that a visit to the V&A is second to none.
In June 2017 we will open the new Exhibition Road Building, including a new courtyard, entrance and exhibition space; the new Head of Visitor Experience will be central to ensuring the successful operation of this new building, as part of the overall experience.
S/he will oversee all aspects of the visitor welcome including ticket sales, Gift Aid and visitor donations in contributing to the financial health of the Museum.
The Head of Visitor Experience also plays a pivotal role in the planning of exhibitions, Future Plan gallery developments, major festivals and a range of other activities. This is an exciting strategic and operational role for the V&A and requires a leader with vision, authority, financial acumen and flair in equal measure.
