We currently have an exciting vacancy for a Quarantine Coordinator to join our Animal Health team.
Our Quarantine Coordinator will coordinate the quarantine service as well as maintain the facilities to provide best standards of quarantine and comply with existing legislation. They will manage the facilities and coordinate all the health aspects of animal moves as well as provide the day to day care for the animals undergoing quarantine. They will support the animal health centre in laboratory diagnostics and health data management and, at times, may need to assist the duty vet with procedures.
The successful candidate will have:
• A degree in Biological Sciences or equivalent • Experience in the care of exotic/zoo animals • A broad knowledge of taxonomy, biology, health and care of animals • Experience of working within an animal quarantine or clinical environment • Excellent organisational and time management skills • Attention to detail and strong observational skills • A good working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office packages, as well as experience using ZIMS software • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • The ability to work alone, whilst maintaining effective communications with their wider team
Experience in an administrative role, as well as data management using Excel would be advantageous. Understanding of medical terms and experience in diagnostic laboratory techniques is also desirable.
Hours of work are 40 hours per week, worked 10 days out of 14, including weekends and Bank Holidays as rostered.
