Job Title: Financial Controller
Location: Bamber Bridge with hybrid working

EDS Group is a leading authority in the design, installation, operation, maintenance and repair of high voltage windfarms. Mainly operating in the UK and Europe, EDS has been serving renewables for over a decade and impacting every stage of the wind farm lifecycle.

Job Purpose

Your main account abilities will be to control the financial systems and processes, preparation of monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts, ensuring the reliability, accuracy and completeness of the company’s financial information. You will also be managing a financial accountant and 3 finance assistants

Principal Accountabilities

• Achieve key deadlines for monthly management accounts
• Production of divisional profitability analysis, job margins, balance sheet reconciliations
• Close involvement with annual budgets and quarterly reforecasting
• Production and submission of VAT returns
• Preparation of annual statutory accounts
• Treasury management and cashflow analysis
• Supervision of purchase ledger including controls for new suppliers, review of payment runs, maximisation of cash position
• Assistance with sales ledger and credit control
• Support the business with continuous improvement initiatives on controls and procedures

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

• Qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Good communication skills to liaise with all areas of the business including monthly accounts reviews with Divisional Heads.
• Experience of job costing and margin analysis
• Detailed knowledge of VAT rules
• Very good Excel skills
• P11d and PSA knowledge
• Sage 50 knowledge desirable but not essential
• Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) process knowledge desirable but not essential
• IBM Cognos for Group reporting desirable but not essential
• Good previous understanding of accounting systems
