At St Mungo’s our vision is that everyone has a place to call home and can fulfil their hopes and ambitions

Our Project at Hope Gardens, is looking to recruit a Duty Worker to join the team.  Hope Gardens is 27 bed supported accommodation project for people that are homeless with medium to high needs specialising in substance misuse. We work within a psychologically informed framework and work with residents with a personalised approach and with a focus on their strengths and assets.

We know that all sorts of people, from all backgrounds, have the skills and competencies to support, challenge and inspire people rebuilding their lives after experiencing homelessness. That is why we have designed our Duty Worker roles for people new to the homelessness sector. Whatever your background and experience, whether changing careers, building on your volunteering experience or just starting out, this role will provide a great first step.

As a Duty Worker, you will work as part of team to manage the safe day to day running of the Project and provide basic support and advice to clients. You will also be the first point of contact for clients and visitors and will be responsible for coordinating the daily Health and Safety, office administration and housekeeping tasks.

To succeed, you will be someone who has strong customer/client service skills. You will also have the ability to communicate and engage sensitively and creatively with people with alcohol, drug, mental health and physical health support needs. An understanding of the needs of people with support issues and that have been socially excluded is also essential.

Flexibility is required as you will be working a shift rota.
