Learning Support Assistant
Salary: Scale D £15,576 - £15,887 (£19,312 - £19,698 FTE)
Part time (35 hours per week)
Term time plus one week
Permanent

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant at Hewett Academy. The successful candidate with be working with individuals/groups to supervise physical/general care of pupils, including those with SEN; support access to learning for pupils and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom
You will be creative and committed to supporting pupils within the school. You will be keen to develop your skills and knowledge, undertaking further training as necessary. Previous experience in a similar role is highly desired.
The ideal candidate will also be able to:
- Show understanding of the needs of young people
- Be flexible and adaptable in your approach.
- Is able to promote independence in every area of being a young person;
- Be comfortable with providing first aid and support to students
- possesses good literacy, numeracy and ICT skills;
- Be keen to work
- Effective interpersonal skills to develop positive and supportive relationships with children, staff and parents;
- The ability to use their own initiative to support the learning needs of children.
