Hammersmith and Fulham

Edith Road is a 24-bed project based in Hammersmith & Fulham for men with medium-to-high support needs; including physical and mental health, substance misuse, offending backgrounds and more.  The project is a fast paced and varied work environment, focusing on bringing about meaningful change with a wide variety of clients from all walks of life.   You will be joining a friendly team dedicated to providing clients with a safe environment in which to build their confidence, promote opportunities for positive change and support their recovery journey and move on.

In this important role, you will work as part of a busy team as the first point of contact for clients, visitors and other professionals. Duty workers provide support and advice across all the many challenges our clients face, support our keyworkers with coordinated plans for client recovery and move-on, and help to run the project safely and successfully.

To succeed, you will be someone with really strong communication skills and an understanding of the issues that affect vulnerable clients. You will also have a good level of numeracy and literacy skills, and the ability to use your initiative to deal with difficult situations, while maintaining a professional and supportive outlook.

You will be working in a shift-based role that includes shifts on evenings, weekends & bank holidays. Shifts are generally either from 08:00-16:00 or 14:00 – 22:00. This role is eligible for additional hour payments for evenings and weekends.  You will always be on shift with another worker within our supportive team, and will be supported around building a positive work-life balance, as well as plenty of training and 1-2-1 support to develop in this role.

If you believe that you have what we are looking for, and have an interest in working for a charity which makes a real difference to the lives of people who are homeless, we would love to hear from you.
