Shine is a national mentoring service for women in prison or in the criminal justice system. The service is provided as a Public Social Partnership (PSP) - a strategic partnership between public and voluntary sector organisations. We work all across Scotland helping women who are serving a sentence in prison of less than four years, or a community sentence or who are on remand. The service has been growing in the past ten years and we help hundreds of women every year, changing their lives and supporting them to avoid coming back into the justice system.

Shine is a mentoring service.  Mentoring is a way of helping and supporting people in achieving their goals. The Shine Women's Mentoring service provides women with a mentor who will provide support on a one-to-one basis with many of the issues they might face in the community. A Shine mentor will discuss any issues the woman may have before participation with the programme. This will be done in prison, prior to release or in the community if serving a CPO.

We are looking for a values-driven manager to help us deliver our goals across the Partnership.  Your role will be to coordinate the work of the partners and support them to develop and improve services. Working closely with the project board, you will monitor the success of the services across Scotland and recommend improvements.  You will support the teams and spend time promoting the service to local authority partners, the judiciary and others and in liaison with prison services.

You will be a highly organised and self-motivated person with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.  You will be able to bring people together from different organisations to work in partnership and you will work with the people we support to enable them to tell their stories and let their voices be heard.

This role offers an amazing opportunity to be involved in a high profile government funded project that is truly making a difference to people’s lives.

We offer some great benefits, including family friendly policies, flexible and hybrid working and work-life balance. We also have generous annual leave entitlement, employee wellbeing scheme, cycle to work scheme, pension scheme and death in service, enhanced company sick pay. We will offer learning and development, progression and qualifications with the opportunity for growth and development.

We welcome applications from individuals who share Sacro’s aims and values and want to engage with those we support to help them move on to a more secure, settled and fulfilling life and value diversity from all sections of the community.
