The main responsibilities of the role are:
- Assisting in the support and inclusion of this individual within the classroom and school-wide activities
- Working effectively with parents, school staff and outside agencies to implement advice and strategies.
- Working one to one with this student during study times
- Monitoring and assisting this student during break and lunch times.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of working with children or young people in a similar role, preferably in a school environment.
- Knowledge and experience of supporting children or young people with their personal care needs.
- Educated to Level 2 (GCSE) or equivalent qualification /experience.
- Ability to establish rapport and to maintain respectful and trusting relationships.
- The ability to overcome barriers with children by implementing school policies, procedures and identified support mechanisms.
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A good understanding of Health and Safety, safeguarding and child protection.
