Cartrefi Cymru are recruiting for Support Workers in the Bridgend area, on contracts up to 30 hours per week. The Support Worker role is an integral part of a team, supporting and enabling service users with learning disabilities to live full and enriched lives. An important part of this role is to enable service users to become active in their homes, doing day to day tasks, and in the community on days out and during leisure activities, for example swimming or going to Day Centre. Therefore the ability to drive and have access to your own car for work purposes is essential. The service users we support require 24 hour support to include emotional and practical support and care on an individual and personal basis.

What we can offer you:

  • £57.60 per shift for working a sleeping in shift (£60 from 1st April 2017)
  • generous annual leave entitlement
  • enhancements for bank holidays
  • occupational sick pay and pension scheme
  • full paid training to achieve QCF qualifications

What we expect from you:

  • a commitment to enabling people to live fulfilled and independent lives both within their homes and the wider community.
  • A flexible approach to work and the willingness and ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends and also sleeping overnight at the service users home
  • a full clean valid UK driving licence and a car with business insurance, as you will be required to use your car for work purposes.
  • have a commitment to work towards a QCF in Health and Social Care

Due to the nature of this work, we are required by legislation to obtain an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service for all successful applicants.

Please note - we reserve the right to close the vacancy before the closing date stated if we have received sufficient applications.

*This post is male only, due to the care needs of the service users. Exemption is claimed under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9
