What is North Star?
North Star is a group of housing associations operating across the North East and North Yorkshire.  We build and rent high quality affordable housing to meet a variety of needs, including 650 units of specialist supported housing.  We are committed to creating homes and building futures as well as investing in people at every level.

Polaris, also called the “North Star” is a constant in the sky.  It’s more than just a single star; it’s a natural beacon that’s been used to navigate for centuries.  It provides direction to those who are lost and without any other form of conventional navigation.  Stars shine, and we look to them for guidance and inspiration.  Our organisation is full of North Stars’.  Bright people who sparkle, achieving great things, and rising stars who shatter expectations, raise the bar and are great to be around.

What is good about working at North Star?
We are growing, leading the way with new approaches and thriving as a business.  We were voted No 1 landlord 2018 and No 2 in 2019 ( 24Housing), and were the first Housing Association in England to attain Investors in People Platinum standard.  We only employ exceptional people, and invest significantly in the development of everyone.  People are at the centre of the business, supported by a culture of relational leadership where everyone has a strong voice and influence.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference to people’s lives.  You will have experience of delivering both support and key housing management functions to vulnerable people.  You will have a flexible approach to meet the varied demands of this role and able to manage your time efficiently. You will be required to work on a rota system including evenings and weekends. You will be able to work on your own, with initiative and also be an effective team player. You will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and always deliver exceptional performance.

In return we will invest in your development and support you to grow and learn.  You will also get great opportunities to be innovative and contribute to the overall running of the business.

A portable DBS would be advantageous.
