Project Manager

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the largest of Scotland’s seven Regional Transport Partnerships, established by the Transport (Scotland) Act 2005.  As well as running the iconic Glasgow Subway, SPT delivers an extensive range of public transport services including bus stations and subsidised bus services, delivers projects directly and in partnership with others, and is responsible for preparation of the statutory Regional Transport Strategy for the west of Scotland. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our Projects team to work on a variety of projects/programmes within the Corporate Programme section.  SPT is managing the process for developing a Strathclyde Regional Bus Strategy (SRBS) and leading the preparation of the Case for Investment (CFI) for Clyde Metro, among a wide range of other projects in support of the Regional Transport Strategy and Corporate Plan. About the Role The Project Manager will be responsible for managing all stages of the project lifecycle, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.  The postholder will require to have oversight of all project activities, working proactively and independently to manage the execution of key deliverables. About you The successful candidate will have a degree in a related discipline, Project Management qualification or demonstratable project management experience.  You will be a highly motivated individual with excellent organisational and communication skills.  Experience in leading complex and/or multi-disciplinary projects, including the co-ordination of interfaces between internal and external stakeholders is essential. Full time hours will be 35 hours per week Monday to Friday. However, you may be required to undertake work outwith this norm to meet the responsibilities of the post. You will be based at 131 St Vincent Street, Glasgow. Facilities Technician (Plumber)

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is the largest of Scotland’s seven regional transport partnerships.  As well as running the iconic Glasgow Subway, SPT delivers an extensive range of public transport services including bus stations and subsidised bus services, manages large transport infrastructure projects and is responsible for delivery of a long-term multi-modal transport strategy for the West of Scotland. About the Role  We have a great opportunity to join the Customer Services department as we continue to improve service delivery to our stakeholders.  The role will involve supporting the Facilities department to provide both hard and soft services within the facilities team. The key responsibilities of the role are set out in the job description and include: Carry out planned preventive maintenance, inspections and response to emergency calls within SPT properties ensuring that work is administered and recorded. Carry out repairs, maintenance, alterations, modifications and small installations of plumbing systems. To react to emergency requests for water ingress and leaking pipework. Carry out work on buildings, equipment, and infrastructure within SPT properties to ensure fixed assets are maintained and fit for purpose. Supporting minor project works such as upgrading of SPT facilities, office moves and rerouting of plumbing pipework.   About You The successful candidate will have general plumbing experience and working in a maintenance environment along with excellent communication, interpersonal, numeracy and literacy skills.  You will have the ability to work both on your own initiative and equally be able to collaborate with others within the team.  You will have good organisational and planning skills and be skilled with workplace paperwork and systems.  You will be flexible and motivated to meet the growing operation of the department and wider organisation. Full time hours will be 35 hours per week on a Monday to Friday basis and you will be based at Buchanan Bus Station, Killermont Street, Glasgow. Service Delivery Assistant (Stations) x 5.5

Senior Controller x2 (Fixed Term - 12 Months)

Over the next few years, we will be making history with huge investments that will affect all areas of operations, from new trains to stations upgrades and local community support.  SPT is now seeking to recruit a Senior Controller who will be responsible for the safe, efficient and effective operation of Subway train services to meet the needs of all customers, operational teams and contractors.   About the Role As a member of the Control Room team, you will be responsible, during passenger service, for operation of Subway train services in a safe, efficient and effective manner in compliance with the Subway Rule Book and legislative requirements.   Outwith passenger service you will undertake the role of PICOP (Person in Charge of Possession) be responsible for the control and management of possessions. You will provide flexible support to all areas of Subway Operations specifically to facilitate Controller training on new systems within the Operations Control Centre (OCC) for the subway modernisation project. About You You will have an in-depth understanding of train operating principles as well as the Subway Rules, Regulations and Emergency Procedures. Experience as a Service Delivery Officer (Driving) and/or (Stations) is desirable, as well as experience of working in a Control Room environment.   The successful candidate will have Standard Grade Level (A-C or equivalent) in Arithmetic, Maths and English. A transport industry and competence assessor qualification are desirable.   You will be able to demonstrate high levels of flexibility, concentration and vigilance together with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work within a safety critical environment. A highly motivated, professional, reliable and capable individual you will be able to work under pressure while assessing operational situations and taking appropriate action. You will use your communication skills to work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our services are delivered in a professional manner and deliver positive change.
