Matron

Matron Contract: 37.5 hours per week,Term Time, Permanent  Salary: £15,444 per annum plus £1,864 holiday pay  Lord Wandsworth College is recruiting a Matron to support the Houseparent by ensuring the welfare and well-being of all pupils in the house, the smooth running of the laundry arrangements of the house and for oversight of all cleaning and maintenance requirements. The Matron is responsible to the Houseparent and is a key member of the House community. Each senior House (ages 13 – 18) has two non-resident Matrons, only one of whom is on duty at any one time. Each house comprises of between 70 – 80 pupils and has a mixture of day and boarding pupils. All houses have a family atmosphere and supportive environment within and between the year groups. Head of Maths We are looking for an inspiring Head of Maths to join the Maths department on a permanent basis. Teacher of Chemistry We are seeking to appoint a full-time teacher of Chemistry, teaching the subject to GCSE and ideally to A Level (both AQA specifications). The Science Department at Lord Wandsworth College is organised into the three separate sciences, each with its own Head of Department. We are a strong team of 14 full- and part-time staff, excluding an outstanding team of technicians. Science is based in the state-of-the-art Flowers centre. Teacher of Geography

Teacher of Geography  We are seeking to recruit a full time Teacher of Geography, however part time applications will be considered.  The new Teacher will join and contribute to the continued development of a high-achieving, popular and forward-thinking department. You will be a passionate, dynamic and creative individual, able to foster high standards of teaching, learning and feedback. The department, situated in the heart of the campus, has four dedicated classrooms with interactive whiteboards. It is a paperless environmentally friendly department and so understanding of OneNote is an advantage. The successful candidate will join a team of three full- and two part-time Geography specialists. You will be expected to teach and deliver Geography lessons from Year 7 through to A Level. We have a full programme of fieldwork activities, ranging from local to overseas trips including West Wittering and Iceland. The department has a thriving enrichment programme, including Geography clubs and undergraduate lectures at Royal Holloway University. Teacher of Physics/Head of Physics

Head of Physics We are looking for an inspiring Head of Physics or Teacher of Physics to join the Science Faculty on a permanent basis. The ability to teach Physics to KS5 is essential. The Science Faculty at Lord Wandsworth College is organised into the Biology, Chemistry, and Physics Departments, each with its own Head. We are a strong team of 14 full- and part-time staff, excluding an outstanding team of technicians.  Science is based in the state-of-the-art Flowers centre. Opened in 2022, Physics has four purpose-built laboratories and a dedicated prep room. Facilities in the department are outstanding and represent industry-leading spaces to work in.  We follow the AQA course at GCSE, offering both combined and separate sciences. A-level physics students follow the OCR course. As Head of Physics, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the Physics Department, as well as its strategic management in consultation with the Head of Head of Science and the Deputy Head (Teaching & Learning). You may also be required to teach KS3 biology and chemistry to the junior scientists.   Junior scientists in the 1st and 2nd form have three lessons a week with the same teacher, rotating through topics across the three disciplines. All pupils start their GCSE studies in 3rd form, at which point we split into three disciplines and teach specialist subjects. Pupils make a choice about double or separate sciences as they enter 4th form but continue to be taught by a subject specialist regardless.  The department is entering an exciting stage of expansion as we prepare to offer Environmental Science A level for the first time. Experience or expertise in this area would be an advantage. We offer a range of extra-curricular events, such as dissection club, vets and medics, and Lego robotics. We enter teams into the annual CanSat competition and run plenty of co-curricular trips. Teacher of Creative Digital Media BTEC

Teacher of Creative Digital Media BTEC We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of BTEC Creative Digital Media for 12 periods per week. The subject is currently studied in Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth. The ability to offer another creative subject would be an advantage. Media is taught in a dedicated classroom equipped with a suite of iMacs and filming equipment, fostering both theoretical understanding and practical filming skills. Our small classes ensure personalised attention, allowing us to closely mentor each student in their journey. Results have been strong over the past two years. In addition to academic lessons, our department actively contributes to various marketing and student-led projects. This hands-on involvement provides students with the opportunity to enhance their project management and organisational skills, preparing them for the demands of the media industry.
