Immersive and Clinical Skills Technician, Part Time, Permanent

Immersive and Clinical Skills Technician Part time, 18.5 hours per week £11,851 per annum Burton-on-Trent, Town Centre Campus Who are we looking for? We have an exciting and unique opportunity to recruit an Immersive and Clinical Skills Technician to join the recently expanded Health and Social Care curriculum facilities. In this role, you will support and set up the daily technical elements of all courses using a range of equipment and supplies for clinical skills and simulation teaching. The equipment range will include human patient simulators, computer-based simulators, and appropriate medical and surgical equipment. A knowledge of Ares simulation manikins, HoloLens and CAE software would be desirable; however training is available. You will be required to provide high-level support and demonstrations to the curriculum teaching team and have technical knowledge of equipment used in healthcare and simulation-based education. The role will include ordering of consumables, maintenance and monitoring of equipment. This will also include ensuring compliance with Health and Safety requirements of equipment and substances hazardous to health (COSHH). Ideally you will have experience of working within a clinical setting, and have experience or a qualification relevant to the role at Level 3 or above. You will have excellent time management and organisation skills and be able to communicate effectively across a range of staff and stakeholders. Exam Invigilator - Part-time

Exam Invigilator   Part time, various hours per week £11.39 per hour Burton Town Centre Campus/Swadlincote Campus Who are we looking for? In order to increase our bank of casual Exam Invigilators, we are looking for candidates who will be available to work on an ad-hoc basis as required. The College operates examinations throughout the year from 09:00 until 21:00 (on occasions) weekdays only. Exams can be of any duration from 1 to 3.5 hours and are under the aegis of multiple exam boards. There is an expectation of regular availability to invigilate exams and some availability to support admin tasks within our Data or Exams teams. Demand on our invigilators is high and, in addition to invigilation, there is a regular requirement for people to read or scribe for our supported learners. Exams take place on both sites in Burton Town Centre and our Construction Academy at Swadlincote. You will need to be able to ‘think on your feet’ and be comfortable dealing with post 16 and adult learners. Full training and opportunities to shadow will be available for successful applicants. The remuneration is £11.39 per hour, and you will be paid for the duration of the exam + half an hour beforehand to ensure a timely start for the students. Financial Controller, Full Time, Permanent

Financial Controller Full time, 37 hours per week £44,068- £48,133 per annum Burton on Trent, Town Centre Campus Who are we looking for? Burton and South Derbyshire College are looking for a Financial Controller to lead and manage the College Finance team.  You will be responsible for the operational financial management of the College, ensuring the effective and efficient use of College resources by maintaining and developing financial controls, financial reporting and budget management. The successful candidate will understand the further education sector and its main funding streams and funding rules while having experience leading budget and costing preparation processes.  You will be experienced in the production, statutory accounts to international accounting standards and have strong analytical skills with the ability to identify key issues while working under pressure to tight deadlines. The successful candidate will be required to hold a formal CCAB qualification or be a finalist working towards one. Exams Process Co-ordinator - Full Time

Exams Process Co-ordinator Full time (reduced hours considered) £25,630 per annum Who are we looking for? The Exams Process Co-ordinator role is pivotal to the smooth and timely delivery of all exams within the college. You will be responsible for maintaining and updating all exam related information within the MIS system and the Awarding Organisations platforms.  This role will support the Exams Manager to ensure a high standard of exams service runs throughout the year allowing learners to achieve their best outcomes. You will be a team player with good interpersonal, motivating and influencing skills with well developed analytical and problem-solving skills.  You will be able to quickly develop relationships with subject leads across the college, acting as a key liaison with curriculum managers to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of information to and from MIS. Customer and Learner Services Advisor, Full time

Customer and Learner Services Advisor  Full time, 37 hours per week £22,233 per annum Burton Town Centre Campus/Swadlincote Campus W ho are we looking for? Burton and South Derbyshire College is seeking to appoint a well-organised, committed and enthusiastic individual to join our Customer and Learner Services Team. You will play a vital role in contributing to the College recruitment, admissions, retention and success rates by providing efficient and effective frontline services offering information, advice and guidance on our wide and diverse range of complimentary support services to existing learners, new applicants to the College and general public while being part of the team that handle a busy switchboard with in and outbound calls. You will be required to work closely, and in collaboration with, cross College departments in order to provide a welcoming, seamless and professional service to learners and visitors to the Learner Hub. You will also be required to be a good team-player, with good communication skills and have experience of inputting data efficiently and accurately. This role would suit a vibrant, outgoing individual who is able to work effectively as part of a team but also has the tenacity and motivation to, at times work alone or on individual tasks or projects.  This role will require working to a rota between our Burton town centre campus and the Stephen Burke Construction Academy (in Swadlincote) campus. Some evening and weekend work is required to support College Open Days at campus, internal further education and careers events, and learner progress events and school engagement activities which fall outside of normal working hours. You should be qualified to Level 2 English and Maths or above with vocational experience in Business Administration or Customer Service, or willing to work towards  Level 2 English and Maths and be able to demonstrate a good level of IT literacy. Knowledge of working in customer facing roles would be an advantage, as would the ability to speak more than one language.
