Project Worker – Endell Street

£24,135 - £27,648 per annum

37.5 hours per week

The Endell Street service provides accommodation and support for 53 homeless men and women. We work alongside people at various different stages of their recovery journey, supporting residents to move through the Camden Hostels Pathway stages towards greater independence.

Our clients benefit from our organisational Recovery College and training and employment programmes which might include access to St Mungo’s training in Construction, Horticulture, and Hospitality industries. We also encourage people to make use of the Camden Pathways Piece by Piece training designed to support people with the skills and knowledge to manage an independent tenancy in future. Endell Street itself has a recording studio on site where clients can learn production skills or even record their own album.

Endell Street isn’t just about providing a roof – we try to be there alongside people every step of the way. Our Project staff help directly, and via referral on to other agencies, with substance use and offending issues, mental & physical health needs, education, getting back into work and the skills needed to live in your own home and become part of a community. Our vision is that everyone should have a decent place to live, something meaningful to do, satisfying relationships with other people and good mental and physical health to enjoy them.

We're looking to recruit an enthusiastic and psychologically informed project worker to join the service. As the post-holder, you will be working in partnership with a multidisciplinary team of support staff, specialist staff and external partners and will be responsible for supporting the working shift pattern of the hostel, whilst holding a case load of clients as a Keyworker. Flexibility is required, as you’ll be working a shift rota that includes regular weekends, evenings and public holidays.

The successful candidate will have previous experience within a similar environment and an understanding of the needs of homeless and vulnerable people, especially those with complex needs. Dedication, personal resilience and a relationship based, non-judgemental approach are essential for the successful post holder. In order to be able to establish an effective working relationship with clients, you should also possess good interpersonal and listening skills and an enthusiasm for reflective practice. Good numeracy, I.T and written communication skills; which will include report writing and producing support plans are also required.

In return, we offer a range of benefits including a pension scheme, staff discounts scheme and flexible working to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance. We are also committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities; in support of their personal and professional development.

If you believe that you have what we are looking for, and have an interest in working for a charity which makes a real difference to the lives of people who are homeless, we would love to hear from you.
