We are Chester Zoo, and for over 80 years we’ve been a leading conservation and education charity, and an amazing, award-winning visitor attraction.

We’re also a team of passionate, talented, enthusiastic and expert people, doing everything we can to keep the zoo going, from feeding the animals, as well as the customers, to discovering new conservation ideas, and giving our 1.9 million visitors an inspirational day out.

Following the successful launch of The Oakfield, after an extensive refurbishment of the original Grade 2 Victorian property, we are looking for additional enthusiastic, detail minded and charismatic team members who are willing to learn and willing to work.

Our aim is to have one of the most unique dining and event experiences, by having an amazing gastro pub completely surrounded by the busiest Zoo in the UK!

  • Mentor and coach Seasonal and new team members as part of a ‘buddy’ system to ensure that operational standards are maintained.
  • Interact and engage with all guests, to meet exceptional guest service standards and exceed guest expectations.
  • Ensure adequate levels and rotation of products and bar equipment.
  • Adhere to all policies, operating procedures and safe working practices including food and beverage safety systems, to ensure that exceptional guest service standards are met and guest expectations are exceeded. Ensure legal compliance in relation to serving alcohol to the public.
  • Maintain a flexible approach and adaptable attitude with a willingness to undertake other duties appropriate with the grade of the post.

The successful candidate will have:
