5 year fixed term contract for training
The V&A is the world's leading museum of art, design and performance. We enrich people's lives by promoting the practice of design and increasing knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of the designed world.
We are currently recruiting for the post of Assistant Curator in the Furniture, Textiles and Fashion Department, as part of the museum’s Assistant Curator Development Programme. The programme is designed to augment Assistant Curator posts by providing a wide range of training and experience of curatorial work needed to help care for our collections. During the 5 year contract, a secondment of up to one year will be undertaken in a Collections Department other than the Furniture, Textiles and Fashion Department.
The successful candidate will be educated up to at least degree level with substantive experience of work or volunteering within a museum or other relevant cultural organisation. Excellent grammatical English, computer skills and a good knowledge of a relevant second modern language are essential. We would welcome candidates with an interest in the art and design of the 19 th , 20 th and 21 st centuries.
