After-school youth worker
Part time

£9.36 per hour
Term time only

Starting September 2019

We are looking for a reliable, dynamic, and responsible after-school youth worker to support and supervise students during after-school study sessions and activities.

Jane Austen College is committed to providing a safe and purposeful environment for students to complete their homework and independent study after the school day. We do this because not all students have a suitable study area at home, and those who do may wish to keep work and family life separate. This is a core part of our offer as a school, and we believe it is responsible for much of our students’ success. This role involves supervising pupils during after-school study sessions (known as prep) and supporting during after-school clubs (known as electives).

You will have a calm, clear, consistent approach to working with young people and be able to establish good relationships with pupils; acting as a role model and being aware of and responding to their individual needs. This would be an ideal opportunity for somebody looking to develop a career in working with young people.

Prep and electives currently run from 3.30pm to 5.30pm on Monday-Wednesday, and 3.30pm to 4.30pm on Thursday. Candidates would need to be available during all or most of these times.

Closing date for applications: Friday, 26 July 2019

Interview date: Thursday 8 August 2019

Inspiration Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
