Business Development Executive

Key tasks:

To understand and communicate our proposition of “Brighter together”. To present the Sun Branding Solutions packaging-launch-model to potential clients

To work closely with the five specialisms within Sun Branding group, understanding the work and deliverables of each team

To gain an in-depth understanding of the benefits of combining different services to specific prospects, and become an expert in articulating those benefits

To establish a strong working relationship with key stakeholders across all disciplines.

To achieve messaging and call targets to ensure an effective lead-gen pipeline is built

To achieve meeting-booking-targets to ensure an effective sales pipeline is built

To work with the Sales Director/ Business Development Manager and sales and marketing team to execute planned and targeted activity to generate leads

To research prospect decision makers, companies and brands, to approach with benefits and questioning specific to them. Using tools such as Linkedin

To maintain, improve and update the CRM system

Monthly reporting on your results and pipeline

To support as needed on wider sales and marketing activity

 

Your approach:

 Your approach to clients is friendly and inquisitive. You aim to understand them before offering new ideas to help in ways specific to them. You prefer to build your knowledge to the level that calls are 100% unscripted.

When talking to new prospects you ask questions and are an excellent listener, creating a meaningful conversation and mutual respect before offering proposals and solutions.

You love to learn new and complex business services, and how to articulate them simply and meaningfully to new prospects. You are an excellent communicator.

You’re resilient in the face of being told no/ not now or being ignored by prospects. You continually search for new angles and new strategies to overcome objections and spark their interest

You’re inquisitive and take responsibility for filling gaps in your knowledge and finding answers to queries. You demonstrate high levels of initiative and are self-motivated.

You have an interest in the retail/brand/design/packaging industry and will enjoy keeping up to date on news and trends, to build a repertoire of subjects to talk about with prospects

You strive for high standards of professionalism and integrity

Qualifications / Experience required:

A proven record of booking meetings or generating sales by phone, in a service-industry

Ideal (but not essential) experience

Booking meetings/ generating sales with Director level decision makers

Booking meetings/ generating sales for the following services:

  • Brand design
  • Packaging design and/or innovation
  • Artwork, repro, colour management

Booking meetings/ generating sales to the following prospect markets

  • Retailers
  • Brands
  • Food, grocery and drinks businesses

Selling a range of services where different combinations of services have different benefits. Having become adept at the quick thinking and articulation necessary to hold these complex conversations with prospects over the phone.
