’We have an exciting fulltime and permanent   opportunity available in Early Help South Hub. We are looking for a skilled, dynamic and motivated Advanced social work practitioner to join our busy team. You will need to be aspirational for children and young people and support families to use their ability to be resilient and minimise further statutory involvement or escalation. The post holder will have the skills and ability to practice at a higher level which includes deputising for the line manager in circumstances where the line manager is not available. They will demonstrate expert and effective practice in complex situations and be able to assess and manage thresholds and risk on their own and that of other 0-19 practitioners.

The successful candidate will:

  • Possess in-depth knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework and polices in relation to safeguarding children be able to provide evidence of your excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrate your impact on families in achieving positive outcomes for children and influence the professional networks that you work with.
  • To provide a high standard of Early Help social work and services to users
  • To work in the hub team and receive allocated Early Help (EH) Assessments and associated work as agreed by the hub panel and team manager
  • To ensure a seamless transition of cases escalating up to CSC and de-escalating down the continuum of help and support by working alongside practitioners across the local children’s workforce to confidently use the Early Help process and to act as a conduit between these practitioners and Children’s Social Care.
  • To assist practitioners to assess levels of help and support as part of the continuum of help and support, so that they are clear when to initiate a EH as-assessment and when to refer to Children’s Social Care or other specialist services.
