Are you an asset management professional looking to further develop your expertise in data and data systems? We have an exciting opportunity for you to lead on the design, functionality and embedment of an Asset Management Information System within Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM). This Enterprise Asset Management system will deliver improvements to how the organisation collects and uses data to drive value for our customers and business.

TfGM oversees transport in Greater Manchester, delivering and improving transport services, facilities and information to make travel easier for everyone. We deliver high-profile, large-scale transport projects, and it’s our experts who provide the information and analysis to shape transport strategy. This is a busy and exciting time for us: under the devolution agreement and with Greater Manchester at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse, transport will play a vital role in supporting growth and prosperity in the UK’s largest regional economy outside London.

You will be acting as a visible and key interface between operational, technical and strategic areas of the business for the Asset Management Information System. You will be responsible for delivering the objectives within the Asset Information Strategy, such as a managed suite of business processes and workflows for the system. In this role, you will provide governance and stewardship of the Asset Management Information System and have a demonstrable understanding of all stages of an asset lifecycle.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, you’ll have working knowledge of international and industry standards related to asset and information management, namely ISO 55001. You’ll have technical expertise in Asset Management Information Systems and their application and interaction including Enterprise Asset Management, GIS, and BIM tools, along with proven experience of managing data and translating this into information that drives performance.

Whilst technically strong, you will also be able to communicate effectively and influence a variety of audiences, using your excellent stakeholder engagement skills. You’ll be proactive and passionate about implementing improvements to contribute to the bigger picture, and communicating this in particular to end users.

If you have a track record of success and want to join a recognised industry leader, we would really like to hear from you.

The salary range for this role is £40,555 to £45,646.  Salary on appointment will be dependent upon your skills and experience.

In return, as well as a competitive salary, we also offer a range of fantastic benefits, such as:
  • Free Rail or Metrolink travel to and from work within the Greater Manchester boundary
  • Free bus travel within Greater Manchester
  • 27 days holiday per annum
  • Access to the local government pension scheme

At TfGM we encourage candidates to discuss flexible working options at any stage of the recruitment process.

We welcome and encourage applications from everyone regardless of age, disability, gender, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation.  We are actively building a diverse workforce and want to create an inclusive environment as we recognise the importance of our workforce reflecting the communities we serve.
