London
Initially 12 Months fixed-term contract
37.5hrs per week
As the Night Worker you will be based in the heart of Westminster at a project for vulnerable women who are survivors of domestic abuse, exiting sex working or have general, mixed and complex needs. The Project provides 37 beds housing accommodation, for women who are referred from Westminster Housing Option Services. It also has a newly funded 12 bed night safe space provision, for women who have slept rough.
You will be responsible for appropriately dealing with any emergency situations that arise during your shift and writing handover notes for the daytime workers. You will also carry out administrative tasks, hourly building checks and monitor issues like noise in the locality and within the building. Other responsibilities include actively engaging with residents and providing them with support and assistance during the night.
To succeed, you will have personal experience of homelessness or an understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people. You will also have a genuine interest in helping vulnerable people to make changes in their life; to move them towards independent living. Other requirements include the ability to constructively challenge difficult behaviour and to learn new I.T applications and basic computer skills.
In return, we offer a range of benefits including a pension scheme, childcare, cycle and eye care voucher schemes. We are also committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities; in support of their personal and professional development
