Night Concierges – Hither Green & LARC

£19,281 - £20,546 per annum

37.5 hours per week

We’re looking to recruit Night Concierges to join 2 services based in Lewisham on a full-time, permanent basis. One of the services is the Lewisham Assessment & Recovery Centre, a short stay assessment centre based in Pagnell Street. The other is our Hither Green site, which is comprised of 4 services designed to support people who have experienced or are experiencing a range of issues including complex trauma, problematic drug and alcohol use, and mental and physical ill-health.

In these roles you’ll be responsible for providing first contact and safeguarding clients at night, including dealing with emergencies. You’ll undertake regular health and safety checks on patrols and through monitoring the CCTV system. You will also have responsibility for maintaining a full and accurate log of events and reporting on incidents and any maintenance issues.

As such, we require someone who has good communication skills and an understanding of the issues that affect vulnerable clients. You will need to be able to interact in a positive and friendly manner with people with mental health needs, and be passionate about working in a service that supports vulnerable adults.

You should have a basic level of numeracy and literacy skills and the ability to use your initiative; to identify the appropriate action to take in various situations. You’ll also be expected to be punctual, awake and alert at all times during your shift and act with integrity, within our policies and procedures.

Flexibility is required, as you’ll be working a shift rota that includes weekends and public holidays. In addition some of the roles will involve lone working.

If you believe that you have what we are looking for, and have an interest in working for a charity which makes a real difference to the lives of people who are homeless, we would love to hear from you.

In return, we offer a range of benefits including a pension scheme, childcare, cycle and eye care voucher schemes and flexible working to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance. We are also committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities; in support of their personal and professional development.

Closing date: 10am, Friday 29th September

Interview and Assessment date: tbc
