The Role :
The Business Applications Support Analyst provides technical expertise to the JFN group. Acting as a technical support for the management of the Business Applications team, the Applications Support Analyst liaises with various JFN business units and JF Group business services to ensure excellent system functionality across JFN.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To provide technical expertise across the JFN group, assisting the Business Applications department and project teams as and when required
  • To maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and use best practice methods
  • To maintain and support Bespoke Business Applications (Deeside presently but not limited to)
  • Administration and User controls of the business PDM system
  • To maintain all business applications to ensure Cyber Essentials compliance and certification renewals
  • Administration and business improvement support (EFACS) utilising Adapt, Workflow and Business Intelligence reporting
  • To take ownership of user problems and be pro-active when dealing with user issues
  • Support users in the use of computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice
  • Support other team members in the use of specific systems by providing necessary training and guidance
  • Ensure all machine builds across the JFN group satisfy best practice installation and configuration policy and procedures
  • Move ICT related hardware between desks and offices when required
  • Take ownership of ICT asset management and maintain its integrity
  • Working with the team under direction of the Business Applications Manager, develop current systems and capabilities to offer continued best value for money investments
  • Regularly liaise with other JFN sites to ensure expertise and continues to build on the ‘single company’ ethos
  • Offer technical support and assistance to the other JFN sites when required
  • Ensure department annual budgets are considered and maintained when consideration to expenditure is being requested
  • Carry out internal compliance audits to ensure all business application software, hardware, licencing and procedures are meeting the required criteria
  • Carry out any request as required by the Business Applications Manager and/or Executive of JFN

 

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Previous first line technical support experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong working knowledge of CAD systems and Microsoft systems
  • Good TCP/IP experience
  • Good understanding of PC hardware set-up and configuration
  • ‘Hands on’ approach and ability to guide other team members
  • Flexible, pro-active approach
  • Experience with common engineering applications desirable
  • SQL database service management
  • Understanding of Cyber Essentials requirements
  • EFACS Adapt, Workflow and Business Intelligence reporting
  • Web development / management
  • Experience in software code, .Net Visual Basic, html, SQL, VBA Access
  • Good understanding of corporate working environment

 

Qualifications: 
Minimum of 5 GCSEs, grades A-C 
HE qualifications in IT related discipline desirable 
Degree in IT / Software Development / Programming (SQL, Java, html, VBA) 
Full UK driving licence
