As Director of Corporate Affairs you will lead an experienced and respected team and drive delivery of a comprehensive Corporate Affairs Strategy for Transport for Greater Manchester. You will have a broad remit, including stakeholder engagement, policy advice, development and implementation, and communications. You will develop key strategic relationships to enhance our reputation with a wide variety of influential partners and stakeholders, including the Mayor of Greater Manchester, GM Combined Authority, MPs, the Department for Transport, public and private sector organisations and the media, acting as our lead spokesperson. You will ensure strategic transport policy is integrated with wider agendas including skills, health and the Mayor’s policy commitments. Effective communication is vital and you will ensure that strategic communications advice is provided to the Chief Executive, the Executive Board and the wider leadership team. Using your extensive knowledge and experience you will oversee communications to all audiences, across all channels.
TfGM oversees transport in Greater Manchester, delivering and improving transport services, facilities and information to make travel easier for everyone. We deliver high-profile, large-scale transport projects such as the expansion of the Metrolink network to the Trafford Centre and new state of the art rail and bus inter-changes in Bolton, Wigan, Ashton and Stockport. You will have a sound background in stakeholder management and corporate communications, representing organisations in public policy forums to influence national/sector policies and investment decisions. You will also have a track record of building productive working relations with a variety of communities, partners, public and private sector organisations, Government and statutory authorities. As an inspirational leader, you will demonstrate expertise in managing and developing high performing teams who will support the achievement of our ambitious objectives.
