About the role Working in a team on a rota basis (06:30-15:00 and 14:30-22:30 rotating weekly), our Facilities Officers open and close the college buildings, assist with managing student behaviour, supervise and delegate cleaning duties to a team of cleaning staff, assist with any caretaker/porter services and any minor maintenance related issues and ensure the college is a safe and secure environment for learners, staff and other users.
Facilities Officers are trained to become part of the College’s First Aid rota when on duty, for which there is an additional payment of £500 per annum (paid monthly) once training is completed.
Facilities Officers are also required to be on the On-Call escalation rota for the buildings on a rotational basis (currently 1 week in 6) and work a Saturday shift with paid breaks (currently 1 week in 6).

About the Person We require a flexible person who can work independently, and as part of a team, to provide and maintain the security, cleanliness, and efficient running of the college buildings. Previous experience in a similar role is not required, however, the successful candidate will need to be hardworking and dedicated to learn from on-the-job-training. Full training will be supplied, where required/needed.

1. The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act The College is exempt from the provisions of the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974, by virtue of the fact that postholders have access to children and young people, and to vulnerable adults.
