Employment and Skills Manager Permanent Contract £39,277 per annum
We are recruiting for an Employment and Skills Manager to play a key role in the management of construction and built environmental projects within the Corporation. Responsibilities of the role include managing a portfolio of construction employment and skills projects ensuring that they are cost effective, comply with organisational needs and meet a successful outcomes.
Key Accountabilities

- Provide day to day management for a portfolio of construction employment and skills projects.
- To ensure a safe, secure, timely and cost effective delivery of projects.
- Ensure clarity of identification, definition and specification of programmes and projects.
- Apply appropriate project management delivery strategies to ensure a successful outcome.
- Work with project partners (internal and external) to ensure the project delivers planning performance and outputs to time, budget and specification.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Professional qualification in Project or Programme Management E.G APM, Prince 2 or MSP or equivalent experience.
- Substantial experience of:
- Analysing build strategies and employers’ targeted skills requirements,
- Engagement with contractors’ procurement/commercial departments to maximise social and economic benefit delivery and,
- Supply chain management and directly working with subcontractors to embed a “whole supply chain” approach to the employment and skills workstream, including organising and coordinating site-based meetings.
- Experience of working in a high profile/complex stakeholder environment involving construction employers and their supply chain subcontractors.
