Is this the job for you? We are looking for an Administrator based at the magical home of Robin Hood, to provide comprehensive administrative support to the management team, departments and teams facilitating delivery of work programmes and an effective working environment.

The successful candidate will have experience of delivering an effective, proactive administrative support in a fast-paced environment.

About Sherwood Forest

Sherwood is a landscape thousand of years in the making, alive with nature, history, and folklore. Today Sherwood it is a magical destination the home of the legend of Robin Hood and the famous Major Oak, estimated to be over a thousand years old. We care for 1,000 acres of woodland and rolling heathland which is home to thousands of species of bird life, insect, mammal, fungi, tree and plants. Wooded for centuries and once part of a vast royal hunting ground. For the 350,000 people that visit Sherwood Forest each year it is an incredible place to visit, boasting a unique collection of ancient oaks which has been thriving here for over 600 years.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can provide comprehensive proactive administrative support to managers and teams across the site
  • Can support financial management and reporting processes, ensuring that financial information is accurate and well managed
  • Can organise the office environment ensuring materials, equipment and diary bookings are maintained
  • Can confidently and professionally manage telephone, email and face to face enquires
  • Can build and maintain effective relationships both internally and externally, using diplomacy and tact
  • Can manage data sensitively and in line with GDPR compliance
  • Can provide comprehensive support to recruiting managers, from recruitment through to induction
  • Can provide technical support to colleagues
  • Can provide project administration to small projects
  • Can support and work with volunteers

Essential knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications – Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, OneDrive, Teams
  • Knowledge of document management
  • Knowledge of budget management terminology and phrases
  • Organisational and time management skills
  • Proactive approach to problem solving
  • Able to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences via phone, email or face to face
  • Able to organise meetings and events and coordinate all aspects of the meeting or event
  • Able to make the best use of time particularly when under pressure from competing priorities, prioritising and delegating tasks effectively, during periods of both low and high demand.
  • Experience of working in an office or customer care environment in an administrative role

Desirable Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Experience of working with volunteers
  • Business Administrative qualification

Additional Information

This is a Permanent Full-Time role for 37.5 hours per week. The role will include weekend and bank holiday working.
