Royal Museums Greenwich (RMG) is a collection of diverse historical sites. The sites are the National Maritime Museum, Cutty Sark, the Royal Observatory, and the Queen’s House. Each of these sites has a unique identity and a common purpose to serve our communities, through sharing our collections and expertise. We are a place to explore the sea, space, art and history, and our strategy ‘Charting Our Course’ puts people at the core of its success.

The Designer will work within the Marketing Team to design engaging, high-quality advertising campaigns, branded materials and destination touchpoints for RMG, ensuring a high quality of design for marketing assets and acting as the brand guardian across the organisation. 

Key elements of the role will include working with the Marketing Managers to create and design dynamic campaigns across print and digital media. The Designer will deliver a variety of assets across multiple projects, on brand and to deadline, overseeing a busy design schedule and a coordinated approach to design across RMG. The Designer will also support the wider organisation with the production of 2D marketing materials (leaflets, digital assets, templates) to best communicate RMG’s offer, such as environmental graphics and signages.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in an agency or in-house creative team, with an excellent understanding of typography, layout, colour, and overall composition. Proven knowledge and understanding of production processes for print and digital is essential, including proficiency in Adobe Creative suite, as well as an understanding of building brands through creative design. Prioritisation skills in the context of a varied workload with competing deadlines, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are also required for this role, with the ability to present creative concepts for marketing campaigns.

Core hours of work will be 36 per week, 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, with an additional hour to be worked as agreed upon with management.
