At St Mungo’s our vision is that everyone has a place to call home and can fulfil their hopes and ambitions. We are currently looking for a Deputy Manager to manage the Assessment and Shelter aspect of our Rough Sleeper Service in Bristol.

People can and do recover from the issues that create homelessness and we are working across Bristol delivering shifts on the streets, drop-ins at local day centres, and working with accommodation providers and the local authority, to ensure rough sleepers have access to thorough assessment and a route off the streets as quickly as possible.

Alongside the Service Manager, you will be involved in managing a team of Assessment and Reconnection workers and night staff, liaising with key services – including police and local authorities and services throughout the city, UK and Europe. This exciting role will involve working on housing, health, treatment and immigration issues with some of Bristol’s most vulnerable individuals.

You will need demonstrable experience of engaging and assessing clients on the streets and other devolved locations and of delivering a case management approach with homeless people and clients who are rough sleeping or vulnerably housed.

A good working knowledge of the housing, health and social services legislation and services for vulnerable people is also required. As is the ability to maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, the community, the police and other external agencies.

Flexibility is required as you will be working some shifts at unsocial hours. You will also ideally have a clean driving licence and access to a car.

In return, we offer a range of benefits including a pension scheme, voucher schemes and flexible working; to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance. We are also committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities; in support of their personal and professional development.
