Title: Purchasing Assistant (6 months contract)

We are recruiting for highly motivated Commercial Manager to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. As Commercial Manager, you will lead the JFD Commercial function in support of global projects and services ensuring that JFD’s commercial position is optimised and exposure to commercial risk is properly assessed, controlled and effectively managed/mitigated.
Job Purpose
Provision of support to the company Supply Chain process, Purchasing department Inchinnan. This is a varied role best suited to those who enjoy a challenging, deadline orientated work environment. To assist Stores/Accounts with queries relating to outstanding invoice queries.
Key Accountabilities
To deliver high quality information, ensuring vendors are meeting delivery requirements and building robust relationships within the team and business.
- Assist in all administrative functions to support the Purchasing function within company supply chain process
- ERP system administration, data entry
- Expediting of company purchase orders
- Raising and placing purchase orders; obtaining price and delivery for commercial items where necessary, raise and issue purchase orders to suppliers in a timely manner
- Issue enquiries, expedite and collate multi-vendor quotations
- Responsible for raising PO’s for various manual requisitions and special purchases
- On occasion, manage the process for items being returned to suppliers due to non-suitability
- Ensure high level of communication with those expediting, use of order/delivery notes in Glovia
- Identify and communicate supplier delivery performance problems to Supply Chain Manager
- PO archiving, document preparation & general Administrative support
- Working with Finance to match deliveries with invoices/reconcile queries
- Providing accurate and timely reporting of order status’ and cost savings
- Attend team meetings and company training sessions as scheduled
- Variety of non-routine duties, includes holiday cover, as assigned by Supply Chain Manager
Required Experience
- Ability to work effectively within a team structure, accept and understand management instruction manage own timescales and specified timescales effectively. Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Focused on delivering to tight deadlines and changing requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- MS Office / Computer skills are essential
- Experience in a similar role preferred
