About the role T-levels are new, government-backed, career focused qualifications for 16 to 19 year olds. Each two-year course has been designed with employers from multiple sectors and combines classroom study with a substantial industry placement to prepare young people for the world of work, or further study like a higher-level apprenticeship or university.
This role has been created in order to support subject a number of curriculum teams in the delivery of T levels by undertaking the tracking and monitoring of students while they complete their industrial placements. This role will involve liaison with students, employers and teaching staff and a substantial amount of the role will be carried out while visiting students in employer premises while they complete their industrial placements.
A key function of the role will be accurate and timely record keeping and clear communication with a range of stakeholders both in and out of the college to ensure that students are representing the college well while in their industrial placements and to ensure that employers are providing students with safe and useful industrial placement activities and support in the workplace.
As T Levels are new qualifications, there is no necessity for applicants to have any prior knowledge or experience of this provision type to be successful in this role as full training will be given.
About the Person The successful candidate should have excellent administration and communication skills, be adaptable and pay attention to detail. They should have a working knowledge of the basic professional standards expected by employers such as personal presentation, time management and administration, as well as a working knowledge of health and safety in the workplace.
The successful candidate should be confident in managing their workload independently and be proactive in building relationships to allow clear and regular communication to take place.
Being enthusiastic about and committed to the transformative nature of Further Education is vital as is the ability to work closely with a wide range of stakeholders including students (aged 16 to 19) and employers. All staff within the curriculum area strive to maintain a growth mindset and are dedicated to their own CPD.
Candidates may offer skills and experiences suitable for a proportion of role or the total 37 hours per week.
