Spencer Academies Trust is a medium sized Trust which exists to make sure that every child, regardless of background, has access to an outstanding education and real choices in life.  Our successful track record of providing high quality teaching and learning ensures improved outcomes for children and young people.  Our mission statement for the Trust reflects our vision and aim for all Trust schools.  Our highly-successful existing network of 20 schools (8 Secondary, 11 Primary and one special) educates students across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Nottingham City, Derby City and Leicestershire.

Spencer Academies Trust is seeking to appoint a Principal Designate for Highfields Spencer Primary Academy, a brand new school opening in Derbyshire in September 2020.  This is an exciting opportunity which will provide the successful candidates the opportunity to work collaboratively with other Principals, the Director of Primary and the Trust Executive Team. You should have the qualifications, skills and experience to provide inspirational and effective leadership and management of the Academy, ensuring pupils make outstanding academic and personal progress.

The Trust is looking for a Principal Designate to work with it to:

  • Develop a vision for the academy with the Director of Primary that sets out a clear road map for the establishment of the new school.
  • Implement and coordinate the vision, ethos and strategy for the academy in all facets of its provision.
  • Work with the MAT team and Derbyshire County Council to ensure the academy building and site are conducive with an outstanding educational provision.
