Maintenance Surveyor

Covering the North, Midlands and East of England

Full Time - 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

Brewers are the UK’s leading independent Decorators Centres, trading from over 200 branches in the Brewers Group. This is a busy and exciting time for us and we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced, driven and highly organised Maintenance Surveyor to join the team to build upon the success of the existing Premises Department.

You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all company properties within your regions, introducing relevant new requirements relating to Health and Safety and planning and implementing planned preventive maintenance programmes on buildings. This role will also include regular travel across our branch network within the North, Midlands and East of England (occasionally nationally) and to our Head Office in Eastbourne.

As a Maintenance Surveyor some responsibilities will include:

  • Being responsible for all maintenance activities within your regions
  • Providing support and advice to the Premises Helpdesk in respect of reactive works
  • Providing Building Surveying services across a range of diverse properties, to include project management, dilapidations claims and disaster recovery
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and subsequently implementing planned preventative maintenance works for your sites
  • Undertaking regular inspections to ensure company standards are being upheld
  • Procurement and management of contractors
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with intermediaries and business colleagues
  • Ensuring operating and business plan objectives are met in all areas
  • Assisting the Health and Safety Officer in the collection and recording of data to meet legislation and advising on cost implications 

Who we are looking for to join our team:

  • Holds a relevant surveying or construction related degree
  • MRICS minimum 2 years post qualification experience (preferred, but not essential)
  • Demonstrable experience delivering/managing responsive repairs, cyclical repairs and planned maintenance programmes across a region
  • Previous experience in the retail sector would be preferred, but is not essential
  • Ability to manage and support internal and external teams to deliver development and repairs programmes
  • Shows initiative and adaptability, with a willingness to tackle and resolve complex challenges or decisions 
  • Possess a confident and measured manner with the ability to engage at all levels in the business 
  • Has a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Holds a full UK Driving Licence and willing to travel nationally as required
