We are seeking to appoint a teacher of art and graphics at Jane Austen College. If you are an excellent teacher, who is passionate about art and excited about continuing to develop your practice, then we want to hear from you.
At Jane Austen College we believe in creating an exceptional environment for teachers, as it is our teachers who transform our students’ lives. We deliver an aspirational, academic curriculum and place a high value on teacher expertise and subject knowledge. We have centralised detentions, a sensible marking policy, a generous approach to CPD, and simple performance management with no graded observations.
We believe that all students have the right to access a rich curriculum, regardless of background or disadvantage. We are looking for a teacher who shares that belief and is committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for their students. You will have the opportunity to shape a growing department as we develop our curriculum and establish our approach to teaching art and graphics from KS3 to KS5. You will work with the head of department and the rest of the subject team to create a department that aims to set the standard nationally.
Jane Austen College is an 11-19 secondary school in the heart of Norwich. We opened in 2014 and have all year groups within the school for the first time this year. Growing gradually has allowed us to create an exceptional school, with the highest of standards. We are an English specialist school, with an additional post-16 specialism in humanities and the arts.
As part of the Inspiration Trust, we offer high-quality, personalised professional development, in addition to excellent career development opportunities. At Jane Austen College, you will have the opportunity to develop your expertise as a teacher and also develop your career, in a supportive and stimulating environment.
