The Word & Image Department (WID) provides access to its collections through the National Art Library reading rooms, the Print & Drawings Study Room and the Archive and Library Reading Room at Blythe House. The Service Assistant post is based in the Information Services section of the Word & Image Department. The Service Assistants work both behind the scenes and front of house across the study rooms and play an essential part in the delivery of the Department’s services to the public. This post holder will work predominantly in the National Art Library during Saturday opening hours and would provide retrieval and counter support.
We are seeking two motivated individuals who enjoy learning new skills and can work to time sensitive deadlines. The ideal candidates would possess outstanding customer service skills, manual handling experience and the ability to demonstrate due care and attention when handling fragile/delicate museum objects. The nature of the role requires the successful candidates to work with limited supervision and ability to use their own initiative.
The salary is offered at £20,124 pro rata on a 0.2FTE contract (£4,024.80 per annum).
