Redington is an award-winning, independent Investment Consultancy that designs, develops and delivers investment and risk management strategies to pension funds, insurance companies and wealth managers, and helps them to define and reach their goals. The firm focuses on understanding clients’ needs and provides bespoke, outcome-oriented advice supported by market-leading analytics.

Since 2006 Redington has grown to a team of 125 individuals, including 65+ investment professionals. The team has a combined total of over 300 years of investment consulting, actuarial, capital markets and asset management experience. The firm provides advice to 80 clients, ten of the top 30 pension funds in the UK, and has over £400bn in assets under consulting.

All of Redington’s Investment Consulting advice is based on rigorous and best-in-class analysis, the bulk of which is delivered by ALM & Investment Strategy – making that team the firm’s main delivery engine.

As a member of the ALM team you will be responsible for:

  • Modelling asset classes such as equities, credit, bonds, derivatives, hedge funds and other alternatives using in-house tools, in conjunction with modelling pension funds’ contingent liabilities.
  • Designing and implementing capital market and LDI solutions to reduce risk or increase expected return.
  • Analysing the risks in pension funds under Redington’s three lenses approach: calculating the risk exposure of portfolio assets and liabilities; investigating key sensitivities to changes in interest rate, inflation, credit and longevity; and analysing the performance of assets and liabilities under various stress-tests.
  • Monitoring the markets, and keeping abreast of key developments. You will also need to develop a solid understanding of products traded in the capital markets.
  • Liaising with investment consultants to understand the needs of the client and using Redington’s proprietary analytics, to deliver first class advice.

This is a highly quantitative role and candidates should have a keen interest in statistics, modelling, and the ability to solve complex problems. We actively encourage applications from MSc and actuarial students, although this in by no means a prerequisite.

We are looking to recruit graduates, Masters Students or individuals with financial services experience to join our ALM team based in London, UK. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and attributes;

  • An excellent academic record (minimum 2.1 degree) in a quantitative discipline
  • Recent graduates with exceptional academics will be considered and who may also have previous related internship experience.
  • Previous experience of modelling asset classes or pension fund contingent liabilities would be desirable
