Mechanical Supervisor

 

We are looking for a Mechanical Supervisor to join our new Convention Centre. In this role you will be responsible for keeping the Centre’s mechanical and electrical systems in optimum operating condition by performing preventive maintenance and repairs. You will be responsible for responding to maintenance requests as advised by the department, being very mindful of Health and Safety legislation. You will also ensure good “work hygiene” to protect guest areas from damage. In this role you will need to be familiar with the design and the layout of all areas and greet guests during your presence in the property and maintain appropriate grooming. You will also be responsible for reporting any unusual finding or safety hazards immediately to the relevant person in line with our policies and procedures and understand and be able to practice emergency fire procedures.

Essential to have an understanding of the following -

 

  1. Mechanical systems and plant
  2. BMS
  3. Current legislation and maintain an awareness in legislative changes
  4. Heating and air-conditioning
  5. Fire Alarm Systems – including testing, operation, policy & procedures
  6. Air Handling Units
  7. Schematic drawings and plans
  8. Controls and control circuits
  9. Motors and associated systems

 

Desirable to have an understanding of the following –

 

  1. Lifts and escalator systems – including rescue of stranding persons
  2. Kitchen equipment, including refrigeration, ovens and ancillary equipment
  3. Electrical distribution boards and systems.

Hours of work: Variable
