At Cheltenham Ladies’ College, we aim to provide a strong support network for every one of our pupils. Around 700 girls board with us in one of our 11 Sixth Form and Junior Boarding Houses and your role will be at the heart of this pastoral care as you join one of our dedicated professional teams working under an individual Housemistress.

You will be working across any one of our houses where you will be working within a team to look after approximately 60 girls aged 11 - 18. As a member of Housestaff you will make a significant contribution to the welfare and development of the girls; helping create an environment where each girl is encouraged to develop individual talents and interests and achieve her potential.

When occupied, you will also oversee the care and wellbeing of a small number of girls in Nightingale House, which is a separate unit, where girls will be transferred should they present with COVID-19 symptoms. Girls may come from any one of the seven-year groups in College and may be feeling both unwell and somewhat anxious. The girls will need empathetic and close support whilst in isolation, firstly whilst they are tested and awaiting results and thereafter, should those results prove positive, whilst they recover. Medical support and care will be provided throughout their stay by members of the onsite Medical team.

All staff will be expected to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) at all times in line with the COVID-19 Risk Assessment for the house and training and full PPE will be provided.

College itself combines a rich heritage with an exciting future. Approximately 890 pupils from 40 countries across the world benefit from the knowledge and expertise gained over almost 170 years. Driven by innovation and challenge, we prepare our girls to achieve their full potential in a complex and changing world.

To be considered for the role of Housestaff you will possess a positive interest in working in a care environment, good administrative skills and be an effective communicator. The ability to work as part of a team is a must as are excellent organisation skills. Previous experience of working within a school or care setting is desirable.

Closing date for receipt of applications is Tuesday 9 August 2022 (12.30pm)

Interviews will take place on Tuesday 16 August 2022.

Cheltenham Ladies' College is committed to the safeguarding of children.
