You already have proven experience gained in a busy, cultural press office. So give your career a higher profile – and bring your talents to one of the UK’s top 10 cultural attractions.

As one of the UK’s top ten cultural attractions, Royal Museums Greenwich is home to five unique sites – the National Maritime Museum, the Royal Observatory, Peter Harrison Planetarium, the Queen’s House and Cutty Sark – this is an opportunity to work in an inspiring, every growing working environment.

As well as managing key media projects and campaigns from concept to completion, you’ll research, prepare and distribute press releases and other communications for a wide variety of media. Your role will also include responding to external enquiries, overseeing on-site media activity and building strong relationships with external contacts and colleagues across the organisation.

Just as important as all of that, you will keep up-to-date with current developments in the museum, arts, heritage, science and astronomy arenas – and keep us aware of relevant talking points.

An outstanding writer who understands how to engage different audiences, you combine excellent project management and teamworking skills with a positive approach. The ability to sell stories and negotiate media coverage is a must too, while a knowledge of the museum, heritage or arts sectors would be welcomed.

Please see the attached job description above for further details.

Net working hours (i.e. excluding 1 hour per day in rest breaks) will be 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm with and additional hour to be worked in agreement with line management. This role involves some working ‘out of hours’ including weekends, evenings and early mornings to manage media events.
