Wardell Armstrong is recruiting additional staff to assist on various fieldwork projects on a casual basis, mainly based in the North West of England but also working across the UK. The projects will comprise archaeological evaluations, excavations, geophysical surveys and other fieldwork projects.
Fieldwork Assistants should preferably have at least six months’ previous fieldwork experience, and a first degree in archaeology (or equivalent), but we will also consider less-experienced candidates.
Senior Assistants will be expected to have greater fieldwork experience and the ability to work unsupervised.
The current positions are available on a short-term casual contract based in our Greater Manchester office.
The successful candidates will be required to work at various locations across the North West, but some working further afield in the UK may also be required.
Accommodation and a generous subsistence allowance will be provided for projects when working away from home and the company offices.
Initial contracts are expected to be for up to three months in duration, with the possibility of extension.
Applicants will preferably have a full UK driving licence but must be able to provide their own transport to the company offices or to site. Transport will be provided for site work, leaving from the company offices.
Applicants must either be a British citizen or EU national, or hold a current work permit. Proof of eligibility will be required prior to any offer of employment.
