This role is great for someone looking to begin a career within the homeless sector and learn/develop volunteer supervision skills. The post does not require any previous experience of working in the sector or with volunteers but we are looking for someone with a passion for helping those rough sleeping and a willingness to learn in a fast paced environment.
Funded by the Department for Communities and Local Government, GLA and the Welsh Government, Street Link is an app, website and phone line that helps connect people rough sleeping to local services across England and Wales.
The role of the Volunteer supervisor/shift leader will be to support referral/telephone line volunteers, so they can provide a high quality, responsive service to everyone contacting StreetLink; to help ensure anyone having to sleep rough in England and Wales is aware of and connected in with the local services.
For this post, you will have experience of delivering high quality customer service combined with the ability to motivate, support and develop volunteers. Some understanding of the role of statutory and healthcare services in supporting vulnerable people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, is also required. As is the ability to effectively manage and prioritise your time and workload, in a busy and sometimes pressured environment.
In return, we offer a range of benefits including a pension scheme, staff discounts scheme and flexible working to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance. We are also committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities; in support of their personal and professional development
*Flexibility is required as you will be working a shift rota pattern between the hours of 7am -11pm
