We currently have an exciting, immediate vacancy for a Management Accountant to join our busy Finance team.

  

The Role:

As Management Accountant, you will have responsibility for producing and developing monthly financial reports including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow and KPI’s. You will need to demonstrate a wide commercial approach to understanding our business which includes the core operation of the running of the Zoo, including our commercial operations of Guest Experience, Catering and Retail, as well as our charity focused Conservation and Education departments. You will be heavily involved in commercial systems development and also have management responsibility of a small team.

 The ideal candidate will:

  • Be an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified Accountant
  • Have post-qualification experience within a commercial environment
  • Have experience of managing a team
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with proficiency in producing reports
  • Have the ability to engage and build strong working relationships with others, particularly senior managers
  • Be an advanced user of accounting software packages and Microsoft Office packages including Excel
  • Have extensive knowledge of UK GAAP, Charities SORP, Gift Aid and VAT
  • Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Have strong IT systems knowledge

Experience of using Navision accounting software and Jet reports would be desirable for the role.

It would be an advantage if candidates are available immediately/at short notice.

  
Working hours are negotiable between 35 to 40 hours per week, worked Monday – Friday, between the hours of 8.30am to 5pm.

The salary is £45,647.95 per annum based on working 40 hours per week, this will be pro-rated for lesser working hours. In addition we offer a range of amazing benefits which can be found at www.chesterzoo.org/work-with-us/staff-benefits/
