We are seeking a dedicated HSEQ Advisor for the EDS Asset Management business, responsible for advising both the operational and support service teams on all T & T projects on health and safety matters. 

The role requires Taking the lead in the implementation of EDS HSEQ Management Processes across this area of the business, providing support to a centralised HSE resource for performance monitoring. Assisting in the development of a strong and forward-thinking health and safety culture within the business so that HSE is part of the fabric of EDS, ensuring a holistic approach across the EDS operation.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has engineering / technical background and is looking to transition into an HSEQ role. You will be responsible for managing own diary and combine home working with site visits across the UK.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Actively develop, support and lead activities aiming at making HSE a fundamental component within the EDS culture.
  • Strategically develop and recommend HSE targets, objectives and strategies in collaboration with the Head of Asset Management.
  • Ensure a positive and deliberate health, safety and well-being culture throughout the whole of EDS.
  • Oversee risk assessments for EDS activities, providing relevant advice and guidance.
  • Develop and maintains very strong working relationships with internal staff to promote HSE and ensure that is part of all actions undertaken at EDS.
  • Develops and implements relevant project HSEQ documentation, including Emergency Response, ITP, As-Built documentation, and ensure that this is in compliance with the HSEQ Management System.
  • Maintain a detailed working knowledge of HSEQ legislation, industry best practice and subject expertise in Health and Safety legislation.
  • Carry out operational and project HSEQ audits / Site Visits, preparation of project specific audit schedules and terms of reference where relevant, ensure recording of audit / Inspection and follow up to ensure effective closure of findings identified.
  • Liaise with the client on project HSEQ matters, includes chairing regular HSEQ engagement meetings.
  • Management of subcontractors ensuring they are meeting the required HSEQ standards.
  • Attendance at Vessel mobilisations, presenting safety briefings and engaging in safety conversations with the vessel personnel.
  • Participation in HSEQ accident, incident and near miss investigation, identification of effective corrective and preventative action and ensuring RCA has been established and that these are tracked to closure.
  • Provide support and advice at relevant client meetings, working on EDS’s behalf to develop health and safety solutions where all parties win, enhancing the company’s reputation as an HSEQ leader in the renewables industry

 

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

You will be an excellent communicator who can negotiate and influence both within the business but also externally with all stakeholders (clients, suppliers, contractors, employees) to instill and drive forward excellence in health and safety.

  • Solid working knowledge of relevant authorities such as the Health and Safety Executive.
  • Skilled in negotiation and compromise.
  • Knowledge gained from HSE field experience in either offshore wind or utilities.
  • NEBOSH certificate.
  • Ability to meet the requirements of GWO/O&G Offshore Medical and survival certificate
