Classroom assistant - Specialist Resource Base for ASD pupils
Salary: Support scale C - £18,562 - £18,933
Full time - 37 hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity for a Classroom Assistant to join our committed and hardworking team at Thetford Academy.  This position will be based in our new Specialist Resource Base (SRB) for pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).  The SRB opens to pupils in newly refurbished accomodation in January 2021.

We are looking for a dedicated, caring and ambitious classroom assistant to support our children to be safe, happy, and stimulated. The successful candidate should have a minimum of GCSE grade C for English and maths or equivalent.  Experience of working in a school based environment, or with children who have ASD would be an advantage.

The role involves working in small group situations as well as supporting the teacher in whole class lessons. You should be able to work effectively as part of a team, following the direction of the teachers as well as working under your own initiative when necessary.
