IN SHORT

Are you passionate about the Engineering industry and looking to do something different?

Do you think you could teach, but don’t want to be based in a classroom Monday – Friday?

Milton Keynes College are looking for a Workplace Trainer with expert knowledge and skills who can teach milling, turning, welding, fabrication, and composites engineering to apprentices – the awarding body requirements dictate that you must be qualified at Level 3 or above yourself and have relevant industrial technical competence/experience.

As a Workplace Trainer, your role will be dynamic, varied and highly rewarding - working with employers, apprentices and the college curriculum teams. You will have some autonomy with your diary, with the expectation of certain days/times on campus delivering face to face lessons, appointments to be scheduled with employers at their workplace and some working from home also supported.

Workplace trainers are assigned a caseload of apprentices to train and assess throughout the evolution of their apprenticeship. Our apprentices’ journey runs all year round, therefore you are able to take your annual leave at any time of the year.

We are looking for enthusiastic and skilled engineers to motivate and inspire learners to develop their skills and enable progression into their chosen careers. No previous teaching experience? Don’t let this put you off… If you are a passionate person with the capacity to become a great teacher we can provide the training to help you achieve your full potential, just as we expect you to be able to help our students achieve theirs.

MK College will treat all applicants fairly and with respect, irrespective of their background, disability or any other individual characteristic. We particularly encourage applications from people with backgrounds which are currently under-represented within Milton Keynes College.  All offers made to successful candidates are subject to satisfactory outcomes to a range of pre-employment checks including a Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS).   In addition, security clearance is required for all prison services positions up to Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) level.
