Vacancy: Academy Counsellor

Place: Ormiston Forge Academy, Wrights Lane, Cradley Heath, West Midlands. B64 6QU. 

Salary:  £26,077-£28,923 (Grade 7. Pro-rata approx salary shown)

Hours/weeks: 37 hours per week/ Term time plus training days (39 worked weeks)

Job start: Feb 2022 (subject to employment clearances)

Contract type: Fixed term 12 months

We are seeking to appoint a professional, experienced school Counsellor who is incredibly effective at working with young people and listening to the concerns of vulnerable students. The Counsellor will be an excellent communicator and capable of building relationships with staff, students and families and is keen to work as part of our safeguarding and student services team. 

Qualifications required:

  • To be considered for the post you must have achieved a minimum of GCSE Grade A to C or Grade 4 or above passes in maths and English.
  • Undertaken professional counselling training and be registered with a relevant professional body. 
  • First Aid certificate is desirable or willingness to complete this.
