Since 2006 Redington has grown to a team of 125 individuals, including 65+ investment professionals. The team has a combined total of over 300 years of investment consulting, actuarial, capital markets and asset management experience. The firm provides advice to 80 clients, ten of the top 30 pension funds in the UK, and has over £400bn in assets under consulting.

Redington is looking for Investment Consultants (Analyst level) to join the team

The Investment Consulting Analyst Role

The Investment Consulting (IC) team is the face of Redington. The IC team delivers all of Redington’s Investment Consulting advice.

As a member of the IC team you will be responsible for:

  • Work on delivering investment advice to the Firm’s clients, both large and small. We offer as much responsibility as you are ready for
  • The preparation of client presentations and reports
  • Attendance at client meetings and presenting to clients
  • Helping to produce "iRIS", our bespoke risk and performance monitoring tool.
  • Working closely with Asset Liability Management & Investment Strategy, and Manager Research teams in order to develop investment strategies that meet our clients’ needs
  • Addressing day-to-day client queries
  • Aiding senior consultants in preparing pitch books and responding to Requests for Proposals
  • Writing thought-pieces, articles and blogs for our publications and website
  • Keeping up to date with financial markets across all asset classes and understanding how changes in these markets will impact pension funds.
  • Attendance at industry events, such as education sessions, conferences, etc.

The work will be primarily with Defined Benefit pension schemes but there will also be the opportunity to work on Defined Contribution pensions.

 

Essential Skills

  • Excellent academic record (minimum 2.1 undergraduate degree awarded/to be awarded) and a highly analytical mind;
  • Strong Interest in finance and capital markets;
  • Commitment to learning about pensions (if no prior pensions experience);
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills;
  • A flexible approach, high personal standards and attention to detail;
  • Possess initiative and an ability to work well under pressure;
  • Be willing to question conventional wisdom and to suggest creative solutions;
  • Ability to distil complex concepts in a clear and succinct way to audiences of varying technical expertise;
  • Ability to work independently on assignments (e.g. client papers and reports) after an initial training period.
