Psychotherapist/Senior Counsellor – Haringey Recovery Service

£40,088 – £44,750 per annum (pro-rata)

30 hours per week

We’re looking for a dedicated Psychotherapist/Senior Counsellor to provide psychological support and therapy, including group and/or individual work, within a multidisciplinary team at Haringey Recovery Service. The team works with groups and individuals recovering from alcohol/substance misuse and ensures the delivery of high quality, evidence-based, and clinically competent services in line with national, organisational and locally commissioned standards.

You’ll also be responsible for providing support and management in the provision of a high quality, co-ordinated, recovery-oriented therapy service that is responsive to the needs of individual clients in line with the recovery pathway model. This involves managing staff including honorary staff and apprentices conducting counselling and family carer interventions and providing therapeutic and clinical leadership to the Haringey Recovery Service and the Counselling Service more specifically.

In order to be effective in this role, you’ll need to establish and maintain close and effective working relationships with statutory and voluntary services, and promote clients’ social recovery beyond the Recovery Service. You will need to be UKCP registered or have BACP accreditation following the completion of a psychotherapeutic training. We are looking for someone who has proven experience of using a range of psychological interventions with people living with mental health problems and experience of working psychotherapeutically with people with alcohol and/or substance dependencies. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will be required to convey complex concepts in straightforward language and to form strong working relationships with the team and service users.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced clinical practitioner to further develop their clinical management, supervision and therapeutic skills within a vibrant and innovative Counselling and Recovery Service working closely with the local treatment service partners for alcohol and drugs.

In return, we offer a whole range of benefits including a pension scheme, voucher schemes and lots of initiatives to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance. We are also committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities; in support of their personal and professional development.

Closing date: 10am, Wednesday 4th October

Interview date: w/c 9 th October (tbc)
