Job Purpose: To provide an efficient and effective daily cleaning service for Robert Miles Infant School.
Key Responsibilities:
- General daily cleaning tasks which include emptying waste bins, dust damp wiping, floor maintenance and washroom cleaning.
- Using electrical equipment where required, mainly vacuum cleaner.
- Cleaning after emergency situations (e.g. spillages and floods) and occasionally cleaning bodily fluid spillages.
- To report any causes for concern relating to the welfare and safety of pupils to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or if unavailable a member of the senior leadership team, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Effective communication with the designated site representative and other cleaning colleagues where appropriate.
- Managing stock and equipment allocated to deliver the required service.
- Ensuring allocated paperwork and administrative systems are kept up to date at all times.
- Additional duties appropriate to the function and nature of the post.
Key Accountabilities:
- Accountable for personal health and safety and apply at all times all relevant health and safety procedures (eg. COSHH / Risk Assessment, colour coding and following manufacturers recommended instructions).
- Delivering cleaning services that meet the school’s requirements and expectations.
- Ensuring that on site documentation is adhered to at all times.
- Accountable for efficient personal time keeping and working to set/agreed work standards.
