Job Purpose: To provide an efficient and effective daily cleaning service for Robert Miles Infant School.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. General daily cleaning tasks which include emptying waste bins, dust damp wiping, floor maintenance and washroom cleaning.
  2. Using electrical equipment where required, mainly vacuum cleaner.
  3. Cleaning after emergency situations (e.g. spillages and floods) and occasionally cleaning bodily fluid spillages.
  4. To report any causes for concern relating to the welfare and safety of pupils to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or if unavailable a member of the senior leadership team, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  5. Effective communication with the designated site representative and other cleaning colleagues where appropriate.
  6. Managing stock and equipment allocated to deliver the required service.
  7. Ensuring allocated paperwork and administrative systems are kept up to date at all times. 
  8. Additional duties appropriate to the function and nature of the post.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Accountable for personal health and safety and apply at all times all relevant health and safety procedures (eg. COSHH / Risk Assessment, colour coding and following manufacturers recommended instructions).
  2. Delivering cleaning services that meet the school’s requirements and expectations.
  3. Ensuring that on site documentation is adhered to at all times.
  4. Accountable for efficient personal time keeping and working to set/agreed work standards.
